There are a great many things to see and do in Birmingham such as discovering the history of chocolate and see it being made. The Cadbury factory at Bournville has a visitor centre that is dedicated to the history of chocolate.

The usual first port of call for many people visiting Birmingham is the Bullring centre. This was recently built in 2003 and has a really unusual space-age facade (where one of only four Selfridges stores is housed) making it one of Birmingham's more distinct landmarks. The Selfridges building includes 15,000 aluminium discs on the outside which makes the building look really quirky and unusua.

Birmingham is also a major centre in the UK for the pickup and drop off of campervan and motorhome hire and rental vehicles.

Star City is a fairly new complex that was only opened in summer 2000. It has a forty-screen VUE Cinema which at the time of being built was the largest cinema in Europe. There is also a bowlong alley and arcade.

Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery is a large Victorian building that opened in 1885 and has the world's largest Pre-Raphaelite collection along with other paintings, silverware & sculpture
