While many international flights have been moved to Charles de Gaulle Airport, 40 kilometres away and one of the largest airports in the world, Orly remains the busiest airport for domestic traffic in France. It is the second busiest French airport overall, behind CDG, handling more than 25 million passengers a year.

Paris has a superb transport system which is fast, affordable and reliable and Orly Airport is served by several different modes of transport:

The airport’s very own light railway, the Orlyval, connects the airport to Paris’ extensive rail network, including the RER and the Métro. If you are staying in Paris, you will find the Métro in particular an invaluable tool.

A slower but cheaper method of transport is coach. Coaches have the advantage of being comfortable and more easily accessible: you don’t have to catch the Orlyval to get to the coach stops at Orly Airport. A number of local buses, less comfy but even cheaper, also serve the airport, if you are really trying to save money.

Orly airport remains a major pick up and drop off venue for campervan hire, motorhome hire and rental vehicles.
